After qualifying as a chartered accountant with Coopers & Lybrand in 1977, Brian spent eight years in Lagos, Nigeria, where he led a team advising on IPOs for subsidiaries of UK and US companies. In 1989 Brian returned to the UK and joined Thomson Morley Jackson & Co., which became part of Montpelier Professional Limited.
Brian is a forensic accounting specialist and acts as an independent expert in legal disputes. His forensic accounting assignments include business valuations for matrimonial, commercial and fiscal disputes, personal injury, commercial fraud and confiscation orders under the Proceeds of Crime Act 2003. Brian is Vice Chairman of NIFA – the Network of Independent Forensic Accountants – an association of 20 accountancy firms which have expertise in forensic accounting.
